About Janey’s Ride

To give back to the community, just as their parents had taught them, two Liberty boys, Jeff Heishman and Kevin Broderick, each started a benefit motorcycle ride. Jeff started the “Janey Heishman Ride” in memory of his mother. Kevin started “The Over the Next Hill Ride for Immacolata Manor” in memory of his father, Robert Broderick. As there were sometimes conflicts in ride dates, Kevin and Jeff decided in 2003 to combine the two rides and the “Janey’s Over The Next Hill Ride for Immacolata Manor” was born. During the past fourteen years, more than 5,500 riders have participated in Janey’s Ride, raising more than $183,000.

Riders meet on the campus of Immacolata Manor to meet the residents before setting out on a predesignated route. This family-friendly event features a biscuit and gravy benefit breakfast, bike show, complimentary lunch in Plattsburg, dice roll, silent auction, and more. Everyone enjoys the celebratory finish back at Immacolata Manor, featuring entertainment, awards, and prizes.

This is a group ride, which means everyone starts and finishes together. We have a crew of experienced Road Captains who make sure the ride is smooth and safe. We also have EMT’s and a Chase Vehicle (sponsored by Liberty Cycle Center) for those unexpected dilemmas. Janey’s Ride welcomes all riders and all brands of motorcycles. Novice riders are invited to ride at the front of the ride behind Ed’s Posse (please review our Rider Etiquette).  In the case of unfavorable weather come ride day, this event will continue rain or shine!
